Timesheets. For a consultant, timesheets are a fact of life,
but our online timekeeping system makes it
easier by allowing you to enter your time
from just about anywhere. No asking
permission of a client to use the fax
machine, no emailing timesheets only to
wonder if it was received in time. Our
online timekeeping system no only posts the
data as soon as you submit it, but you can
always visit the site to see what you've
entered, and can make changes up until the
payroll deadline. For access to the online
timekeeping system, and instructions on
how to use it, contact the Administration Manager.
Training Plans. When
approaching your annual review date, start
thinking about your current direction,
strengths and weaknesses, and how that
relates with where you want to see yourself
in the next 12 months. Your supervisor will
sit down with you and adjust your training
plan according to both your goals and the
goals of the company. We make every
effort to help you go in a direction where
you feel the most value and satisfaction
from your job. As new technologies emerge,
we can provide you with the tools you need
to make yourself strong and marketable in
those areas. When Visual Studio.Net
was released, each one of our Visual Basic
developers was given the opportunity to
transition into VB.Net or C# to stay on top
of their skills. Whether it was classroom
training, book learning or interactive
online training, each associate was able to
pick the language and learning path most
appropriate for them. If you would
like help building your training plan,
contact the development department or post a
help request to the Training Plan Newsgroup,
and time will be set aside to work on the
plan with one of your peers.
Internal Sessions. Senior
Caelum Technology Associates regularly hold
after hours training sessions and roundtable
discussions on topics like C#, VB.Net, SQL
Server, XML, ASP.Net and our various
reporting tools to name a few. The
sessions are posted well in advance and
require signing up so we know which of our
classrooms will be the best venue for the
event.
Company Resources. Our secure associates only web site features
searchable email lists for every technology
we specialize in. When a question is posted
to a list, it's sent to each subscriber in
that list so you can get the answers you
need when you need them. The other feature
of the site is the ability see the index of
our entire Media Library, and see if an item
is available or checked out. In the
event the item you need is checked out, your
name can go in the queue to be notified when
it has returned.
Paid Time Off (PTO). Associates earn PTO at a rate of 2.5 days per month
(30 days per year). PTO encompasses sick time, vacation time and 7 observed holidays.
That leaves 23 days per year for sick, vacation and personal time. Bereavement, Military
and Maternity/Paternity Leave do not count against PTO time. For more details, see your
Associates Handbook or speak with your supervisor.
Holidays. Caelum Technology observes the following Holidays: New Year's Day,
Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and Christmas Day.
Additional time off will be at the discretion of senior management. In the past, the
work day prior to a major holiday ends between 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm depending on work
load and customer phone calls.
Emergency Childcare. Nobody plans for their children to be sick. Many times, daycare centers won't
take an ill child for the day. In the event your child becomes ill and you can't find child care for them,
we provide emergency child care through an independent provider, close to the office, and Caelum Technology pays
100% of the expense. See your supervisor for more details.
Graduated Sales Commissions. Each Sales Associate has goals set for them each month.
You are also given 2 higher goal limits that can earn you an extra commission. When you reach the second goal
for the month, you earn an extra 5% on top of your commission. If you reach the third goal, that
earns you 10% on top of your regular commission percentage. See your supervisor for more information on your goal structure.
Intrapreneurship. We believe in fostering the ideas of our Associates. If you have an idea for a software product, we
will provide you with the time and tools to bring your idea to the development table. Once you formulate a business case and plan,
your idea goes up for stringent internal review. Upon passing review, development time and resources will be reserved to undertake
the project. For any idea that is brought to market, a percentage of every sale will go on your paycheck. As you help the company
grow, we reward you for it.
Online Resume. Every Associate
has an online resume for internal and
external viewing. As you progress into
new technologies, it's imperative that you
keep your resume up to date.
Brainbench and Microsoft certifications are
posted on each resume. Associates who
pass certification tests at the "Master"
level will receive a bonus at the end of the
calendar year for each relative certificate.
Your online resume is viewable by our
clients and prospects as a window into the
breadth of our abilities.
Referral Programs. Bonuses are
possible for 1.) Referring a new candidate
that results in a hire, 2.) Referring a new
client that results in a project or 3.)
Referring additional opportunities
at an existing client that result in a
project.
